HSE DENIES PAY DISPUTE AT GALWAY HOSPITAL

The Health Service Executive has denied that there is a pay dispute with cardiac perfusionists at University Hospital Galway.
A perfusionist is a specialised technician who operates artificial circulation equipment to keep the body functioning during heart surgery.
Chairman of the HSE West Health Forum, Councillor Padraig Conneely says the three specialist staff are owed money dating back 18 months.
However in a statement to Galway Bay fm News, the HSE states that it has not been advised by anybody that there is a pay dispute or any threat to cardiac services.
