HSE criticised over delay in reopening Corrandulla Health Centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The County Cathaoirleach has criticised the HSE for a delay in reopening Corrandulla Health Centre. Mary Hoade says she was given assurances that the centre would reopen following interim works on flooring and walls at the facility. An assessment has been undertaken with a view to carrying out interim works. However, HSE management told this week's meeting of the HSE Regional Health Forum West it was advised that interim works would be a ‘waste of money.' Area Manager of the Galway Roscommon PCCC Catherine Cunningham confirmed that an application has been made to the HSE Estates Department for 35,000 euro for the required works. Cathaoirleach Mary Hoade says it's a relatively small amount of money and funding should be provided as soon as possible to reinstate the service.
