HISTORIC GALWAY ROAD GETS FUNDING FOR REPAIRS

An historic road running alongside a medieval battleground has received funding for repair works. The Knockdoe road linking the N17 to the N63 along the site of the famous battle-scene of 1504, is being granted almost €130,000 for the repairs. The funding will come from Galway county council's draft roadworks programme for this year. Local councillor Jarlath McDonagh says it's badly needed.
