HIQA TO ANNOUNCE IF SAVITA INVESTIGATION TO GO AHEAD

The Health Information and Quality Authority is due to announce later whether it will investigate the death of Savita Halappanavar.
It follows a request from the HSE yesterday.
31 year old Savita who had been living in the city with her husband Praveen, died at University Hospital Galway last month from blood poisoning after suffering a miscarriage.
Her family claim she was repeatedly refused requests for a termination.
