Seven jobs are being lost at a Spiddal Hotel today, which is closing due to high rates and rising overheads.
The Crúiscín Lán Hotel will temporarily lay off its seven full time staff for the winter.
The 14 bed hotel has been operating since 2000 and has been forced to opt out of the winter trading season for the first time in its history.
Management at the family run hotel says the decision was taken due to increasing costs and rates of around 20 thousand euro a year.
The hotel will reopen for business next March.
