Galway County Councillor Mary Hoade has been elected as the new Cathaoirleach of Tuam Municipal District.

This is the second time in her career that the Headford Fianna Fáil Councillor has held the position.

She takes over from Councillor Karey McHugh Farag (Ind) following this week’s Tuam MD AGM.

Councillor Hoade said her priorities for the year ahead include working to deliver more affordable housing within Tuam MD.

She also wants more investment in local, regional, and national roads in the area.
