GOVERNMENT FUND BOOST FOR CITY COUNCIL

The Government has exceeded the city council's budget expectations by granting over 8 and a half million euro in local authority grants.

The city council was expecting a figure closer to 8 million euro.

City Councillor Michael Crowe says the extra funds are most welcome in these difficult economic times and is suggesting the money could supplement the roads budget.
