Gina, Dale Haze and the Champions on the road again and heading West

Gina, Dale Haze and The Champions come to the Galway Bay Hotel this Sunday night, August 28.

The showband stars of the 1970s 1980s and early 1990s had over 20 chart hit singles and several best-selling albums to their name, and appeared on numerous television and radio shows. Their hits included Do Ya Wanna' Do It, The Greatest Lover, Minnie Minnie, Drunken Sailor, Give Me Back My Love and their debut, Dreams are Good Friends.

Now, they are undergoing a revival, which includes releasing their first recording in over 20 years with their version of Baby I Love You, the track made famous by the Ramones. Their treatment of the song also features Stay by Jackson Browne. The song features both Gina and Dale Haze on vocals.

“We are delighted with our new recording,” said Gina explaining that combining the two songs just happened when they were rehearsing. “It’s a little bit different to previous versions and we are thrilled to be able to put our own stamp on such a great song.”

“Our arrangement of the song is really suited to dancing, we wanted to deliver a recording that would work equally well live and the reaction at the dances so far has been very pleasing,” added Dale Haze.

Their Galway show starts at 10pm, so get your dancing shoes ready! Tickets can be purchased at the hotel
