A business owner in East Galway is calling for re-inforcements at rural garda stations after his premises was broken into again this week.

Ted Larkin, who owns Kate's service station in Eyrecourt, says extensive damage was caused to the business following the break in yesterday morning.

Gardai are examining CCTV footage of the incident.

Three men were seen pulling up outside the shop in an Audi estate at around quarter to two yesterday morning.

Two men got out of the car and forcibly opened the front door of the business.

They managed to get inside where it's understood they stopped the alarm.

The pair then took cash from the cigarette machine, before making their getaway in the car, which sped off in the direction of Ballinasloe.

Speaking on Galway Talks, owner of EyreCourt service station Ted Larkin said the station had been burgled several times since it opened in 1999.
