GALWAY'S PUBLIC HOSPITALS RANKED AVERAGE IN PERFORMANCE REPORT

Galway's public hospitals have only been given an average score by the HSE in its hospital performance ranking system.

UHG, Merlin Park and Portiuncula hospital in Ballinasloe have been given an 'amber light' on the scoring system.

The HSE performance report for July shows the Galway hospital group had the highest number of long term outpatients in the country.
