GALWAY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL TEAM TO IMPROVE PATIENT SERVICES

Health Minister James Reilly says the new management team at Galway University Hospitals will mean improved patient services at our public hospitals.

This week the new team began work at the hospital group, which includes UHG, Merlin Park, Portiuncula hospital in Ballinasloe and Roscommon general.

It's being led by CEO Bill Maher who also has a supervisory group of five individuals with expertise in different aspects of hospital management.

The Galway/Roscommon hospital group will have a single governance model, one employment ceiling and one budget which has yet to be announced.
