Galway Transcription app service is a success in any language!

A remote typing and transcription service based in South Galway has been held up as an example of how a rural enterprise can survive despite the pandemic.
Transcribe, based in Kinvara, employs 15 workers is a godsend to busy professionals across the country.
It is operated by Sinead Glennon, who has now launched a new app – the first of its kind for an Irish-based typing service. It was officially launched by local Cllr Joe Byrne.
The Transcribe app is the first of its kind for an Irish-based typing service, offering a variety of user-friendly features, live costings and an Irish-based, robustly secure and GDPR compliant service that relieves the burden of in-house typing administration.
It sends dictation directly to Transcribe’s secure typing panel, eliminating the need for users to attach dictation to emails or upload dictation to the cloud.
The transcription service is used by busy professionals throughout Ireland including solicitors, medical consultants, engineers, vocational consultants, semi-state bodies, forensic accounts, nursing consultants and academics.
The company’s Principal Sinead Glennon said the app helped realise her ambition for a remote, rurally based business to make a national impact.
“When I established Transcribe at the height of the recession, I couldn’t have imagined the direction our growth journey would take,” said Sinead.
“Yet we have held firm with our vision to embrace innovation and technology to deliver a high-quality, secure and trusted local service that makes a national impact.
“I would encourage any business owner, especially those facing the challenges of growing a small business remotely, to believe and you will achieve; you won’t always win, but you will learn and learning is a crucial component of the entrepreneurial journey.”
Transcribe was established in 2008 by Ms Glennon to deliver internationally competitive quality transcription and data security, alongside best-practice principles of remote work and local employment.
Galway County Councillor Joe Byrne, an advocate for business growth opportunities and local employment, congratulated Transcribe for the impact it continues to make on the local community.
“Transcribe is an excellent example of a local business providing employment opportunities that are transformative for the community.
“There is a lot of emerging technology designed to improve our lives but we need someone to develop it; that’s where I commend Sinead and her team for creating this new app and being a very enterprising business in our community.”
