GALWAY SMARTER TRAVEL BID COULD BE DEAD

It seems Galway's Smarter Travel bid could be dead in the water.

At this week's city council meeting, Councillor Colette Connolly said she heard from a T.D that there is no funding for the Smarter Travel Programme.

However, City Manager, Joe O' Neill said the Council had not been notified that the scheme was finished.

Councillor Colette Connolly directed the executive to formally contact the Department and find out if the Smarter Travel Programme had been cancelled.
