Galway Simon Community says the number of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness will increase due to unemployment. The charity says Government funding has been cut for the past two years and this is having a effect on the running of the organisation. The inability to meet mortgage repayments and cutbacks in social welfare will also contribute to homelessness according to Galway Simon Community.Last year, GSC provided almost 40 thousand meals through its Day Centre and shared supported accommodation.
