GALWAY SENIORS RELUCTANT TO GO INTO NURSING HOMES

The majority of seniors living here want to grow old in their own home.

A new study by Home Instead Senior Care in Galway found that 80 percent of those surveyed didn't want to go into a nursing home.

The research also found that two thirds of the care provided to our seniors is provided by relatives.

Those surveyed revealed that it's normally the adult daughter caring for ageing parents.
