Galway senator claims government turning jobs into internships

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Clarification is being sought on claims that the Department of Social Protection has been trying to convert jobs advertised in Galway into JobBridge internships. Galway Sinn Fein Senator Trevor O'Clochartaigh says that he has been contacted by the National One Parent Family Network over the issue, which told him that a number of its members were approached. The members claim their companies were cold-called on behalf of the Department, inviting them to convert advertised positions into JobBridge internships. Senator O'Clochartaigh says that Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton needs provide clarification on the issue immediately.
