GALWAY SEES SLIGHT DROP IN DISPOSABLE INCOME

The estimated disposable household income in Galway in 2009 was 5 thousand and 83 euro, similar to the figure for 2008.

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that Galway was among the counties which experienced the least decrease in disposable income between 2008 and 2009.

The estimated disposable income per person in Galway in 2009 was just over 21 thousand euro, compared to 22 and a half thousand euro in 2008.

Disposable income is defined as all income minus tax and social insurance contributions.
