Representatives of youth work Ireland in the city will meet with public representatives tomorrow to outline their concerns over Government budget cuts.

Youth Work Ireland Galway is facing a ten percent cut to its funding, which they say will lead to a member of staff being laid off, and remove supports to 12 voluntary youth clubs.

Earlier this month, Minister Frances Fitzgerald defended the cuts in the Seanad saying over 200 thousand euro was being allocated to schemes in Galway this year.

Galway Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh is calling on all Galway TDs and Senators to come to the meeting in Youth Work Ireland buildings on Prospect hill at 2pm tomorrow.
