Galway peace activist to be released from prison

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Galway peace activist jailed over her refusal to sign a bond to stay out of restricted areas of Shannon airport will be released in the next hour. 80 year old Margaretta D'Arcy presented herself for arrest to Gardai at Mill Street Garda Station in the city last week on foot of a court warrant. She was arrested and taken to Limerick prison. Ms D'Arcy has previously served 9 weeks of a 3 month prison term for an illegal incursion of the runway at Shannon. She's expected to be released at 10 o'clock this morning.
