The people behind keeping one Galway park clean and beautiful all year round have issued a plea to users over the next couple of days.

Temperatures are set to continue to scorch across Friday and the weekend leading many to walk, cycle or drive to their nearest beach or park.

Small parks like this one in Oranmore, however, may only have one bin if any at all. So users are being reminded to enjoy the park as much as possible but to leave it how you found it for the next person.

Communities of Oranmore and Maree Employment Scheme said: “It's fantastic to see so many people making the most of the beautiful weather and enjoying our park.

“A huge thank you to Conor and Keith, whose hard work keeps the park looking clean, tidy, and welcoming for everyone. Their dedication is one of the reasons it's such a lovely place to spend time with family and friends.”

They continued: “As visitor numbers increase, we kindly ask everyone to bring your rubbish home with you where possible. While bins are provided, they can fill up quickly during busy periods, and leaving bags beside them often attracts birds and scatters litter across the park.

“Every small effort makes a big difference. By taking your rubbish home, you're helping to keep the park beautiful for the next family, walker, or picnic group to enjoy.

“Thank you to everyone who does their part—we really appreciate it. Let's all work together to keep our park looking its very best.”
