GALWAY NO TO LISBON CAMPAIGN TO BE RELAUNCHED

Galway's NO TO LISBON campaign is to be relaunched in the city this evening [thurs jul 9] now that the date for Lisbon 2 has been set for October 2nd.The group plans to circulate a leaflet throughout Galway city to deal with the atmosphere of fear they feel is being generated by the government.They believe that assurances made by EU leaders to Taoiseach Brian Cowen do not change the original treaty which was rejected last year and only serve to mislead the public.The NO Campaigners also believe that the economic policies contained in the proposed treaty would turn Ireland's recession into a depression.The relaunch takes place in Richardson's in Eyre Square at 8 this evening
