Galway firms volunteer 1500 hours to local charities

Galway Bay fm newsroom – 175 Galway companies have donated 1500 hours to local charities. That's according to a study led by ‘Business in the Community Ireland', an online interactive map, which shows that nationally 162,000 hours were volunteered last year. The data reveals that the Galway groups make a total contribution of over 623 thousand euro. Nationally, a contribution of 24 million euro has been recorded. Tina Roche, the CEO of Business in the Community Ireland, says a number of counties contributed high levels of funding including Galway – but one county in particular – stands out.
