Galway couple consent to 12.5 million euro repayment

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway couple have consented to repay over 12.5 million euro to Ulster Bank after being sued over property loans and guarantees.

John and Annette Curley of Stradbally East, Kilcolgan took out a series of loans to buy an apartment in Salthill, a site in Oranmore, a 7000 square foot commercial unit at Sean Mulvoy Road and an 18,000 square foot commercial unit in Sligo.

According to the Irish Independent, the couple's solicitor - Barry Gavin - told the commercial court that his clients were consenting to the 12.5 million summary judgement.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly told the bank's counsel that given the couple's attitude, he would award costs at the lowest level of €202 against them.
