Galway city has been deemed litter free.

The latest national litter survey reveals that the city is among seventy percent of Irish towns to be deemed 'clean to european norms'.

The only other Galway location to be assessed was Tuam, which has been described as 'moderately littered'.

The study by Irish Business Against Litter which looked at 53 towns and cities shows up just two black spots - Dublin's North Inner City and Knocknaheeny in Cork.
