GALWAY CHAMBER SAYS MARATHON CANCELLATION A BIG BLOW

Galway chamber of Commerce has said the cancellation of the Galway city marathon will mean a loss of revenue and exposure for the city.
Marathon organisers Richard and Paul Donovan called off this year's race after a row with the City Council over a traffic management plan.
The race was due to be held on August 28th, a week before the Ironman competition.
The organisers cancelled the marathon this week because they say the type of traffic management plan the city council wanted would have cost them too much.
This year's race would have brought over 2,000 athletes to the city, along with a boost to the local economy.
Chief Executive of Galway chamber Michael Coyle says it's a big loss to business.
