GALWAY CAMPAIGN TO OPPOSE HEALTH CUTS TO BE STEPPED UP

Opposition to impending health cuts in Galway will be stepped up in the coming weeks.

The "Galway says no to health cuts" campaign is hosting a public meeting this week to discuss the effects of Government cutbacks to date, and to outline methods of demonstrating their opposition to further health cuts.

This week, trade unions questioned how the HSE could run its services if 5,000 staff accepted the voluntary redundancy scheme.

The public meeting will be held at Richardson's pub in Eyre Square this Thursday at 8pm.
