GALWAY AT RISK GROUPS URGED TO GET SWINE FLU VACCINE

Date Published: 09-Nov-2009
Pregnant women and people with long-term illnesses in Galway are being urged to get the swine flu vaccine as soon as possible.
Last week, the HSE opened dedicated Swine Flu vaccination clinics around the country, including Merlin Park.
Over 100 people received the vaccine in the first day of the service.
GPs around the country are also administering the vaccine.
The vaccine is being administered amid a strict clampdown on visiting hours at Galway hospitals.
The HSE has implemented restrictions asking that people only visit hospitals when absolutely necessary and that children under 14 years of age avoid hospitals where possible.
It's a bid to stop the spread of swine flu in hospitals and healthcare facilities in Galway.
