The board of Galway airport is expected to brief staff today [Feb 17] on the outcome of its negotiations with Bank of Ireland.

Workers at the Carnmore site say they are 'reasonably positive' about getting their redundancy payments, as the sit in protest enters its eleventh day.

The row over redundancy payments escalated last month after Bank of Ireland took over one million euro from the airports accounts to reduce company loans.

Workers claim this money had been earmarked for redundancy payments and began a sit in protest at Galway airport on Monday of last week.
