Future of city hotel more certain following takeover

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The future of the Connacht Hotel in the city looks more certain following its takeover by The Comer Group

The new operating company is Connacht Hospitality Limited and is owned and run by Shay Livingstone and Jonathan Duggan

According to Mr LIvingstone and Mr Duggan the takeover of the former Carlton Hotel on the Dublin Road will protect staff and the hotel from recent financial uncertainty

They've told all staff in a letter that The Connacht Hotel has been sold to The Comer Group

They say they are far more confident of the viability of the hotel as a result of the takeover

Their company Connacht Hospitality Limited says the takeover has no impact on the day to day running of the hotel
