Funding for Westside sports facilities
Galway Bay fm newsroom - 1.6 million euro is being provided for sporting facilities in the city.
The shortfall in funding for Westside sporting facilities can be met out of an 8 million euro loan drawn down for the overspend on Séamus Quirke Road.
That's according to Councillor Colette Connolly, who says the Director of Services, Ciarán Hayes will be bringing forward a motion at next month's Council meeting regarding the funding.
The Labour councillor says she has been given a guarantee that the running track will resurfaced and re-aligned and the playground relocated.
