FORMER ARCHBISHOP OF TUAM TO BE LAID TO REST

The late archbishop of Tuam Joseph Cassidy will be laid to rest today.
Hundreds of people gathered at Tuam Cathedral last evening to pay their respects to the 79 year old who died at his home in Ballinasloe town on Thursday
His funeral mass takes at noon today in the Cathedral
Afterwards he will be laid to rest in the grounds of Moore Church, where he served as parish priest following his retirement from the archdiocese
Archbishop Cassidy is survived by his sisters Concie, Angela, Mary, Bernadette, Patricia and Imelda, a wide circle of family and friends and his church colleagues
