Five thousand awaiting orthopaedic outpatient appointment at GUH
Just under five thousand outpatients are awaiting appointments at GUH in the orthopaedics department.
This is followed by the Ear, Nose and Throat division where over four thousand are waiting to be seen.
The figures were discussed at this week's meeting of the Regional Health Forum where Forum Chair Cllr Padraig Conneely appealed for action to tackle the delays.
Chief Operating Officer Tony Canavan said huge strides had already been made with 21 thousand of the 31 thousand on the outpatient list waiting less than a year.
Cllr Conneely complimeted the executive on its work in tackling the in-patient list and said outpatients must now be addressed
