There are fears for up to 210 jobs in Galway as Aviva Insurance looks to restructure its European business.

The company has a call centre in Knocknacarra and a branch in Eyre Square.

Reports suggest that at least 500 positions nationwide are under threat.

In a statement to Galway Bay FM, the company says it's considering various options to ensure it has a sustainable and competitive business going forward.

It says the ongoing review of its business in Ireland has been communicated with Galway employees over the last couple of months.
