Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson is to deliver a talk in the city on Monday (Jan 14).
The public interview on her life and work will be conducted by journalist Fintan O'Toole in NUIG.
It will be followed by a panel discussion with the university's Irish Centre for Human Rights.
The former President visited the Newcastle campus last year to mark the establishment of plans for a Mary Robinson Centre in her home town of Ballina, County Mayo.
These include an academic research centre supported by NUI Galway.
It will focus on research and education in the fields of Human Rights and Women's Leadership.
