Cultivating a path to Carlow finals

THE Galway Ploughing Association (GPA) have secured the support of four Galway Credit Unions – Tuam, Gort, Ballinasloe and Loughrea – for their participation in next month’s All-Ireland championships.
This year, the event takes place in Carlow from Tuesday, September 15 to Thursday, Sept. 17 – but behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
The GPA have paid a special thanks to the Credit Unions for their support – over recent years they have been heavily involved in providing farm loans under the Cultivate initiative.
Ballintrane, Fenagh, Co. Carlow, will host an event that in a normal year would be attracting a three-day crowds total in excess of 300,000 people.
All involved with Galway Ploughing are looking forward to more normal times in 2021 when Ireland is set to host the World Ploughing Championships.
