The continuing presence of the "Occupy Galway" protest camp is to be raised at this afternoon's meeting of the Joint Policing Committee.

The group is part of a global movement against corporate greed and has grown in size with over 20 tents now pitched on Eyre Square.

The camp relocated to the left of the Square from its original site to accommodate the neighbouring continental christmas market.

Chairman of the Joint Policing Committee and City Councillor Padraig Conneely says he'll be asking for answers from Gardai.
