Motorists are advised to expect delays as emergency services attend a vehicle fire on the M6 near the Loughrea exit (3pm).

A van is on fire between Junction 16 after the Loughrea Exit and the toll plaza and the roadway is partially blocked as a result.

Emergency services are at the scene.

Visibility is only about 40 to 50 metres on the M6 due to foggy conditions and motorists are advised to drive with extra care as Gardai deal with the incident.
