EDUCATION MINISTER SENDING TEAM TO REVIEW EGLISH NATIONAL SCHOOL

Date Published: 18-Nov-2008
Education Minister Batt O'Keeffe has asked officials to review funds already given to an East Galway national school. It's in response to repeated calls for funding for a new school building from the parents association of Eglish National school in Ahascragh. Minister O'Keeffe wants his officials to review how 27 thousand euro allocated to the school for repairs to the roof last summer was spent. However, he stopped short of agreeing to fund a new school building which is what parents and teachers say is desperately needed. Chairperson of Eglish Parents Association Bridie Harney says it's easy to see where the repair funds were spent.
