EAMON O CUIV TO STAY IN FIANNA FAIL

Eamon O'Cuiv's to stay within Fianna Fáil and has promised not to utter another word on the fiscal treaty.

The only backbencher in the party says he's reached the decision after giving it long thought over the weekend following a warning from the leadership to stop advocating a NO vote in the fiscal treaty.

In his final words on the treaty the Galway West TD says he believes with his "heart and mind" that passing the referendum would be a mistake.

Mr O'Cuiv told reporters this evening that he believes he's best placed to stay in Fianna Fáil.
