Niceol Blue and The Copper Soul will launch their debut album, Rise upstairs in the city’s Townhouse Bar at Spanish Parade on Tuesday next, November 8. The launch kicks off at 8 pm and entry is free.

Originally from Oregon, Niceol is a well known performer around Galway city. She has a unique and powerful voice, with an originally percussive guitar style. She has played at festivals like Bumbershoot in USA and the Electric Picnic. Niceol has also performed as a busker on two continents.

The Copper Soul consists of: Eoghan Judge (lead guitar), Karl Clews (bass), Pat Fortune (drums) and Niceol Blue (vox and rhythm guitar). For the launch performances the band will be joined by some special guests, including Jenny O’Brien on keyboards.

This first album captures the band’s roots rock sound. Many of the tracks on Rise are infused with a distinctive 70s American rock feel, yet maintain a unique sound that showcases Niceol Blue’s voice and songwriting ability.

The album is produced by Niceol’s own label Rock Baby Records. It was recorded and engineered in Galway City at The Forge studios, and features the talents of many well known Galway based musicians including Cormac Dunne (The Stunning) and Tom Portman (The Bah Band).

Copies of Rise will be available at the event at a special launch price. For more details on the band check out www.breakingtunes.com/niceolblueandthecoppersoul
