A man is accused of murdering his mother

The book of evidence is not yet complete in the case of 33-year-old man accused of murdering his mother in Galway earlier this year, a court has heard.

Dubravko Ostojic, with an address at 52 Claí Mór, Ballybrit, is charged with the murder of Milena Ostojic at 52 Claí Mór, Ballybrit on April 24, 2026, contrary to Common Law.

At Galway District Court, Sergeant Damien Prendergast said a book of evidence is required.

Sgt Prendergast said he had spoken to the detective garda involved in the case and had been told the book of evidence is not yet complete.

He said a further remand in custody was being sought.

Sgt Prendergast confirmed to the court that there was no need at this stage to extend time for service of the book of evidence.

The accused was represented by solicitor John Martin who said proceedings are still within the six-week period required for service of the book.

Judge Fiona Lydon remanded the accused in custody to appear via video-link on October 5.
