The opening of this afternoon's County Council meeting has been dominated by discussion on crime and the recent closure of some rural garda stations.
Comments made on rural crime in Galway by the Chief Celebrant at the funeral mass of Louth Garda Adrian Donohoe were also discussed.
The priest referred to an attack sustained by two Williamstown brothers.
Mayor Thomas Welby told Cllrs that the issue of rural crime would be dealt with at a future meeting.
