COUNCILLOR CLAIMS CITY BUS LANE CLOSING BUSINESS

Date Published: 05-Jan-2012
A city councillor is claiming that a bus lane in the city centre is negatively impacting on business in the area.
Councillor Padraig Conneely says the bus lane at Forster Street goes 'nowhere' and is only 100 yards long.
He says that 6 businesses along Forster Street have closed in the last month and that the City Council vision was "ill-thought out".
Councillor Conneely says the Council will suffer too in the long term from loss of rates income.
