COUNCIL OFFICIALS TO REVIEW ORANMORE ONE-WAY

Date Published: 25-Apr-2012
Galway County Council is to consider scrapping a new one-way system at the old school house in Oranmore after major safety concerns have been raised by local residents.
It follows a meeting with local area councillors and engineers this week where calls were made to revert to the original road layout and remove the one way system.
The route is part of the Oranmore traffic management plan.
It's understood the new one-way system is also causing long traffic delays through the town during peak hours.
Cllr Cuddy says Senior Engineers have given a commitment to review the plans and consider reverting back to the old layout.
