CONTROVERSY OVER STATE OF CITY AMENITY PARK

Date Published: 22-Feb-2010
The chairperson of the city council's Recreational and Amenity Special Policy Committee has been called into question.
City councillor Billy Cameron has raised concern over the condition of the Children's Millennium Park in the city over the weekend.
It was covered in broken wine bottles, empty beer cans and litter.
City Cllr Padraig Conneely branded the state of the park on Sunday as a disgrace and is to request a full report from officials at this evening's city council meeting.
However, Cllr Cameron says Cllr Conneely hasn't chaired a single meeting of the Recreational & Amenity Committee since last June.
