CONTRACT SIGNING FOR TUAMS BIG DIG NEXT MONTH

The contract for Tuam’s “big dig” of streets and roads for the new main drainage scheme will be signed next month.Director of Services with Galway Co Council Frank Gilmore confirmed this to the Tuam Town Council meeting this week.The Director of Services said at a time when projects were “falling” all over Ireland he feels Tuam’s “hub town” status helped swing the final funds for the “big dig”.He expects preparatory work to be well underway before Christmas after contracts are signed with Coffey Construction next month.
