CONCERN OVER SPATE OF HOUSE BURGLARIES IN EAST GALWAY

Gardai are appealing to rural communities across the East of the county to remain vigilant following a spate of burglaries this week.

Six unoccupied homes between Ballinasloe and Brideswell on the Galway Roscommon border were targetted between 11am and 2pm yesterday.

Gardai believe all six break-ins are connected where intruders gained by forcing a back door in search of cash or jewellery.

CCTV is currently being examined and gardai belive a dark coloured car may have been used.
