Community drive to make Galway dementia friendly city
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Senator Hildegarde Naughton is to officiate at the launch of a dementia friendly communities initiative in the city this afternoon (Oct 18).
The launch of 'Making Galway a dementia friendly city' coincides with Social Inclusion Week and aims to raise greater awareness and understanding of the condition.The project is a collaboration from a number of local groups including Galway City Partnership, the HSE West Health Promotion Services, Galway Volunteer Centre, Dare to Dream and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.The launch gets underway at 1 this afternoon at Westside Resource Centre.
