COMMUNICATIONS MINISTER BRANDS RTE'S HANDLING OF FR REYNOLDS CASE A DEBACLE

The Communications Minister has described RTE's handling of the Fr.Kevin Reynolds case as a "debacle".

Pat Rabbitte says the "Mission to Prey" Prime Time programme was a departure from RTE's "usual high standards".

Yesterday leaked documents from the Broadcasting Authority were highly critical of the standards of journalism involved in the broadcast which resulted in a defamation settlement with the Ahasragh parish priest

But Minister Rabbitte said he won't comment further until the investigation process is complete.
