CLAREGALWAY TRAFFIC DELAYS SET TO EASE

Recent peak time traffic delays in Claregalway are set to ease following a meeting attended by local cllrs and the business community.

Motorists have been experiencing heavy traffic congestion since the beginning of this week due to the commencement of pipe laying works in the village.

A one way restriction was in place between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.

However, following negotiations between the contractor, local political representatives and the business community, the works have been suspended until Monday evening.

From Monday the works will be carried out at night time from 8 to 6.30 in the morning to minimise disruption.

Galway West TD Noel Grealish is calling on the local community to be patient as the key works continue.
